Enhancing Your Results and Promoting Healing

Congratulations! You’ve just completed a treatment that will help you look and feel your best. Now that your treatment is complete, it’s important to follow the proper aftercare instructions to ensure that you achieve the best possible results. Proper aftercare can help to minimise any discomfort, reduce the risk of complications, and promote healing.

Following the appropriate aftercare instructions can help to enhance and prolong the benefits of your treatment. This aftercare page is designed to provide you with the information you need to take care of yourself after your treatment.

Anti-Wrinkle After Care

  • After having your treatment, you should remain upright for 4-6 hours after injection (you can lie in a reclined position, just do not lay flat);
  • Don’t wear a headband or hat with a band across your forehead if you have had injections between the brows or in the forehead;
  • Refrain from intense exercise that increases your heart rate greatly (running, swimming, bicycling, etc.) for 24 hours after your injections. Walking or other low impact forms of exercise are fine;
  • Do not massage or manipulate injected areas for 24 hours after injections. Washing your face and applying make-up is fine;
  • Refrain from using NSAIDS such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Fish Oil Supplements, or Vitamin E for 24 hours following your injection treatment;
  • If you notice any bruising, you can apply ice to area for 15 minutes every hour to decrease bruising;
  • The most common side effect of these sorts of injections is a is headache. If it’s bothering you, you can use Paracetamol as per the package instructions. If you are a chronic headache sufferer and have prescription headache medication, you may take it as prescribed by your doctor;
  • Botox will gradually take effect over 7-10 days with optimum result at 2 weeks.

These are general guidelines only – your practitioner will let you know if there are any additional instructions specific to your treatment that you should keep in mind.

Dermal Filler After Care

  • Lip treatments may take a little longer to settle. If any other reaction occurs or you have any concerns please contact the clinic on 07747 095732;
  • Post treatment, there may be some redness, swelling or tenderness in the area treated. Occasionally some bruising may occur around the area, this is usually short term and will subside within a few days;
  • Avoid wearing make-up post treatment for 12 hours; there is no need to massage this product unless instructed to do so by your nurse practitioner;
  • Until the initial swelling or redness had resolved, do not use sun beds, saunas or steam rooms and avoid extreme temperatures. Always wear a high factor sun block on your face;
  • If taking aspirin or any similar medication, this may increase the risk of bruising and discolouration to the skin at the injection site;
  • Avoid alcohol that evening as this may encourage bruising and swelling;
  • Please ensure you drink 1.5 to 2 Litres of water per day for the following 14 days after treatment;
  • For those that have had Lip Filler if you are prone to cold sores this trauma to lip may bring one on, you may even develop one even if you are not prone;
  • Finally, make sure you discuss your treatment programme with your practitioner, this will enable you to get the best correction from your dermal fillers.

These are general guidelines only – your practitioner will let you know if there are any additional instructions specific to your treatment that you should keep in mind.
